Construction will begin on new multipurpose fields this fall.  

[Bridgeport, WV] August 12, 2025 – A groundbreaking ceremony will take place on Tuesday, August 26^th at 5:30 PM to celebrate the beginning of the next phase at The Bridge Sports Complex. This event is free and open to the public.

Since its inception, The Bridge Sports Complex has been a tool for economic development in North Central West Virginia. The addition of new, customizable turf fields will increase opportunities for hosting sports tournaments and events as well as community programming.

“There are so many directions we want to go with the complex. Of all the options we discussed, adding these fields as the next phase of expansion was selected because of the wide variety of things we can do with them,” said General Manager Droo Callahan.

The 219,000 square foot turf fields will adapt to multiple different sports. It can configure to accommodate any of the following.

·      2 full size soccer fields

·      2 full size football fields

·      2 300-foot baseball fields

·      4-225 ft fences softball baseball fields
