The Bridge Sports Complex to Temporarily Close Beginning August 18th

The Citynet Center's annual closure will take place this August for court refinishing and other maintenance projects.

[Bridgeport, WV] June 30, 2025 – To avoid shutdowns throughout the year, the annual maintenance closure of the Citynet Center at The Bridge Sports Complex will begin August 18th. The entire building will remain closed for up to a week with the potential for the court closure to last additional days.

Court maintenance requires annual refinishing that can involve unpleasant fumes. With this in mind, as well as the need for other maintenance projects, the decision was made to temporarily close the facility.

Projects include, but are not limited to:

·      Yearly Resurfacing of Wood Floors

·      Maintenance Projects Throughout Citynet Center

This decision only affects The Bridge’s indoor complex, the Citynet Center. Outdoor portions of The Bridge Sports Complex, such as the baseball fields, outdoor turf, running trail, and more, will not be affected by the closure.

“The Citynet Center at the Bridge Sports Complex is a tremendous asset to the community. With over 1 million visitors annually, we take great pride in ensuring the facilities remain in good shape. Each year, we plan several large renovations during this period of which some don’t allow for the public to attend the facility. We expect these renovations to take around a week and will ensure proper communication to allow our patrons to know when we will reopen,” said General Manager Droo Callahan.

For more information, call the Citynet Center at 304-848-8270.
